Author of Sweet Sugar, Sultry Spice: Exotic Flavors To Wake Up Your Baking (Roost 2016), Malika is a classically trained pastry chef whose South Asian heritage sparked her love of spices in desserts.
Her career began in fine dining restaurants in New York City and led her to running the pastry kitchen at LA’s famed Chateau Marmont. There she fed Hollywood's A-listers.
She later moved back to her hometown of Chicago where she opened a critically acclaimed restaurant, loved by the likes of Nate Berkus, Michelle Obama and Bono.
Malika is a television personality, who has appeared on shows such as The Today Show and Martha Stewart. Her work is focused on recipe developmemt, teaching, and consulting. She lives in Chicago with her children.
